Barracuda Blast

Happy July 4th weekend Barracudas!

Our final regular season meet is here! This means that it is time for our Mini Barracuda’s, parents and coaches to shine! If you are one of our Jr Coaches and have worked with the mini’s this year, please plan to be poolside to support them during this milestone. We will also be having our annual Coach and Parent relays swim against the Governor’s Ranch coaches and parents. Don’t worry parents, you will only be asked to swim 1 lap of a 100 free relay. All interested parents need to email [email protected] so we can form relay teams.

Meet Musts

Declarations for our home meet against Governor's Ranch must be made by Wednesday July 9 at 8 pm.

Volunteer needs

URGENT: We have 8 open positions for our last home meet against Governor's Ranch. League shifts have been posted as well and we need timers and ribbon help. If you have a state swimmer, you will be asked to take an additional timing shift for that weekend. All other families, please sign up for a shift this weekend or a timing shift for league. All families are required to sign up and complete 6 shifts (6 points) by the end of season or your volunteer check will be cashed. Sign-up here for shifts.

Fundraising

Barracud-a-Thon: July 15 during morning practice times

Our donation page is up and running! Woohoo! Every swimmer has their own participant page which can be accessed from the team donation site linked below. Please use the participant pages to solicit pledges or flat donations for our team. We have 3 goals in mind:

1. The first is for every family to raise at least $20. This money is slated to cover our minimum costs of food for the End-of-Year Banquet.

2. Our second goal is for our team to raise a total of $5000. What we do not use for the banquet will be used to buy swimmer awards, pay our portion of Pirate’s Cove ($750), reimburse supplies used for tie-dying shirts and glow night, and to purchase supplies for meets. You will see a goal amount listed for your swimmer on their donation page, these are age based and will either be $50, $75, or $100 since the older kids will likely clock more laps than our younger ones.

Shark Week Happy Hour

Wednesday, July 9  6:30 - 8:00 pm

To honor shark week, we are going to get creative with a shark themed happy hour on July 9th during evening practice. Please bring a food item or drink to share and plan to support the theme by bringing a shark item to wear, display or a shark game to play.

Some ideas: blue colored drinks, veggie tray with a shark in the middle, cookies with a bite missing, or check out these ideas from food network

It's going to be a jaw-some good time!
