Hard to believe we are halfway through our season already! We have a lot going on this week so read carefully!

Meet musts

Meet declarations for the Gator Open and KCI are open. It is mandatory that swimmers declare as either attending or not attending.

Deadline to declare for KCI and the Gator Open is today at noon! Please note that your swimmer CANNOT swim in both meets.

If they have an eligible time for ANY event in KCI then they must declare for KCI and are not allowed to enter the Gator Open at all. This means if your swimmer only qualified in backstroke for the KCI then they may only swim backstroke at KCI AND they are not allowed to enter the Gator Open and swim freestyle or breaststroke or butterfly.

If they do not have a KCI time in ANY event, then they must declare for the Gator Open. Coach Maddie may opt to invite your swimmer to join a relay team at KCI.

If your swimmer makes a KCI time during the Gator Open on Monday, they are not allowed to enter that event at KCI. The Bear Creek meet was the last opportunity to meet a KCI time.

Fundraisers

Car Wash Fundraiser - We made almost $600 at the Car Wash! Thank you to all the swimmers and their families who showed up and helped out.

Barracud-a-Thon - July 15th, 7-9 am

The Barracud-a-Thon will take place on July 15 during morning practice times. Swimmers will each have a link to solicit donations from family, friends and businesses for the number of laps they can swim during their practice time.

We are having issues with connecting our PayPal account to RallyUp. Please be patient as we work through this issue. We will send out an update with this is resolved.

Volunteer needs

URGENT: We have 2 open computer positions for the Gator Open tomorrow morning and will need approximately 8 timers for KCI. Ken Caryl has not released our volunteer timer needs to us yet so this number may change and is our best guess based on past years. We are assuming 4 timers for Friday and 4 timers for Saturday. All families are required to sign up and complete 6 shifts (6 points) by the end of season or your volunteer check will be cashed. Sign-up here for shifts.

• 2 open shifts for computer/results entry: 7-9:30 am (Gator Open)
• 4 open shifts for timers on Friday AM: time is TBD (KCI) *estimated

Glow Night: 

Wednesday, 6/25, 7:00-9:00 pm 

Our first Glow Night is coming up on Wednesday. This is a private event for the Barracuda Swim Team only. The pool and our swimmers will be lit up with glow sticks for a fun evening of games and team bonding. Parent, this is not intended to be a drop-off event, please plan to join your kids at the pool. The parent committee will provide the glow sticks you just need to bring your own refreshments.

Practice for June 23-27 *Note the changes to practice this week*

There will not be a regular practice Monday morning due to the Gator Open and there will be no practice on Friday due to KCI. Wednesday we will be at the pool for our private glow night party and will not hold regular evening practice.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only: AM

8:00-9:00 am ( 10 & under)

Monday and Tuesday only: PM 

6:30-7:45 pm (confident 7 and up)

Mini's: Tuesday and Thursday

Also, please remember that swimmers 11 & up should attend practice from 7-8 am only and swimmers 10 & under should attend practice from 8-9 am only. Any exceptions to attending a different practice time needs to be pre-approved by Coach Maddie.
