This blast is long and full of information. Please read through it as we have a lot of events coming up in the next two weeks.

Team Pictures and Social - Tuesday at 5:30 pm

Our team pictures are THIS TUESDAY (6/10) starting at 5:30 pm. Wear your team swimsuit for photos and bring your white team t-shirt to tie-dye (there are still a few families who have not picked up their shirts!). We also have extra shirts in adult sizes for parents to purchase.

Photos will run very similarly to last year. Our photographer will take individual/sibling photos in the banquet room and then your swimmer will be released to tie-dye their shirt (adults will be there to assist). We will also have yard games available for families. Take this time to meet someone new and have fun with our swim community!

Backstroke Flags

All backstroke flags purchased last year MUST be brought to Jody Dyckes by evening practice on Tuesday or they will not be restrung for this season.

Fundraisers

To provide some clarity, your registration fees for the swim team are paid directly to the Village Center and cover the costs of using the pool facilities as well as paying our dues to South Jeffco Swim League, SwimTopia, and meet entry fees. The Barracudas do not receive any amount of those fees for expenditures outside of that scope.

For this reason, our team is holding a couple of fundraisers this year to cover the costs of our 'extras'. These include our End-of-Year-Banquet and awards, equipment for home meets (starter's speakers, call board, and our beloved ducks), Lilley Gulch pool rental for Spring Swims and social events such as Pirate's Cove. Please look over each opportunity and come help out!

Dairy Queen Car Wash 7576 S Pierce St

Please come help support the team and have some fun washing cars. Kids should wear their barracuda suits. Parent help is appreciated. A parent needs to stay with kids under the age of 12. We have sponges and rags but need some buckets and soap. Please RSVP and sign up to bring items at this link:

Barracud-a-Thon - July 15th, 7 -9 am

Information about our first ever Swim-a-Thon which we will be naming our Barracud-a-Thon will hit your inboxes this week. The Barracud-a-Thon will take place on July 15 during morning practice times. Swimmers will each have a link to solicit donations from family, friends and businesses for the number of laps they can swim during their practice time.

Meet musts

Meet declarations for our home meet on June 14 are open. It is mandatory that swimmers declare as either attending or not attending.

Deadline to declare for the meet is Wednesday at 8 pm!

Volunteer needs

URGENT: We have 4 open volunteer positions for the 2nd shift (9:30~noon) at our home meet this weekend vs Ken Caryl Lightening. All families are required to sign up and complete 6 shifts (6 points) by the end of season or your volunteer check will be cashed. Sign-up here for shifts.

• 2 open shifts for computer/results entry: 9:30-12
• 2 open shifts for heating: 9:30-12

Practice for June 9-13

Coaches are requesting that for the safety of our swimmers that only our confident swimmers 7 and up attend our evening practices. With fewer lanes and the varying levels of swimmers, it has been hard to keep our littlest swimmers safe during this time slot.

Also, please remember that swimmers 11 & up should attend practice from 7-8 am only and swimmers 10 & under should attend practice from 8-9 am only. The coaches work very hard to make sure each session is structured age appropriately and that all swimmers are getting equal opportunity for coaching. Any exceptions to attending a different practice time needs to be pre-approved by Coach Maddie.

Our practice schedule for this week is normal, and the weather is looking pretty good! Fingers crossed this week goes off without a hitch. Please, please turn on notifications in SwimTopia so you receive the alerts regarding any weather cancellations or delays. We will post any cancellations or practice changes to the homepage of our website, check the site if you do not enable notifications.
