Grant Ranch Swim Team Coaching Updates

Happy February Barracudas!

Your parent committee would like to share some important news regarding coaching changes for the upcoming summer season. After several years as Head Coach for the Barracudas, Addie Cavallaro, has made the decision to step away from the team and focus on her own career growth. While her absence will be notable, we are excited to announce the hiring of Jim Murphy. He brings many years of experience and several families may recognize his name as he was a beloved coach for GRST from 2010-2014. He has agreed to fulfill the role of Assistant Coach, alongside Griffin and Jenna, who will both be returning for this summer. What follows is a heartfelt message from Addie:

Dear Barracuda Families,
After much thought and consideration, and talks with the parent committee, I am writing to let you know that I have made the decision to step down as the Head Coach of the Barracuda Swim Team. This wasn't an easy decision to make, but after a lot of reflection, I've realized that it is time for me to focus on the next chapter of my career and personal life.
These last few months have been a period of growth for me and I have recently accepted a position with the Denver Broncos. While I'm excited about this new opportunity, it also means that I am unable to give the swim team the attention and presence that it deserves.
After thoughtful discussions with the parent committee, we've agreed that it's time for the team to begin the search for a new head coach who can fully commit to the role. The Barracudas deserve a leader who can dedicate the time and energy necessary for success, and I truly believe that stepping aside is the best decision for the team moving forward.
This is not an easy goodbye as I have spent the last two decades with this team in some capacity and it comes with a heavy heart. I have had the privilege of working with so many amazing swimmers, families, and coaches, and I will always treasure the memories we've created together. The growth, resilience, and spirit of this team have meant the world to me.
Thank you to everyone for your support, dedication, and the trust you placed in me during my time as head coach. I will always be cheering for the Barracudas and will carry these memories with me as I move forward in my career. This is not a goodbye, it's just a see you later. Thank you all,
Coach Addie

With Addie stepping away, this means that GRST is beginning the search for a Head Coach to round out our coaching staff. The parent committee is working closely with our coaching staff and the Village Center to hire a quality coach who is dedicated to enhancing the experience of our swimmers. We will keep our families informed as soon as a quality candidate is hired. Thank you all for your continued support of the GRST. We look forward to seeing you all back in the water very soon.
