PRACTICE REMINDERS

Thank you for your attendance at the pool last week! These first two weeks of practice at the outdoor pool really help set expectations and create a path of success for our swimmers. The pool is heated so don't let the cooler afternoons we've had keep your swimmer away! This week will be our final week of early afternoon swims before we switch to the regular summer schedule on May 30th. There will be NO practice on Monday or Friday this week. Our website is updated with current times. 

MOCK MEET INFO

The Mock Meet will be THIS SATURDAY, May 27th at Grant Ranch Pool. Arrive with your swimmer ready by 6:15 am. Parents—please plan to attend the mock meet. This meet is designed as a time trial for your swimmers and to train parents on the various volunteer positions. We will be going over meet basics like how to read a heat sheet and how to write your swimmers events on their arm or leg so they do not miss an event. In addition, it is expected that parents will use this meet to train on the various meet day volunteer responsibilities. This meet DOES NOT count towards any volunteer shift credits.

You must declare your swimmer for meets. This includes the mock meet.

• Please go ahead and declare any meets that your swimmer will not be available to attend now. This is especially important for our end of season meets (League and State). The coaches like to have early notice on who is or is not available for these meets. State is a qualifying meet, but we would like to have relays for each age group—so please go ahead and let us know if your swimmer will be available. 

Kick-off Breakfast Social after the mock meet! Here is a sign-up for families to bring something to our first social event of the year. This event will be pot-luck style and will take place on the green space between the Village Center and Belvedere neighborhood at the conclusion of the mock meet. Bring a blanket to sit on and get to know your fellow Barracuda families.

TEAM STORE

• Orders have arrived. If you placed an order before the April 30th deadline, please plan to pick up your gear at practices starting Tuesday, May 23rd.
• Second orders for the Barracudas Team Store CLOSES TONIGHT. All orders must be placed by midnight tonight. This is the final opportunity to order team gear. All merchandise from this order will arrive the second week of June.

Please wear your team suits just for our swim meets. The team suits get stretched out if they are worn daily to practice—which create drag and slows down your swimmer. We highly recommend picking up a couple of more reasonably priced “practice suits” at Costco, Swim Outlet, or Amazon.

COMPUTER & JUDGES TRAINING

Computer and judges training has been rescheduled for Tuesday May 23 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm at Governor's Ranch. Deck training for stroke-and-turn judges has not been rescheduled. Please watch the Judges Training Videos found under Documents/Videos on the South Jeffco Swim League Swimtopia website. If you still desire an on-deck training, please reach out to the parent committee and we will reschedule a date with the league trainer.
